Currently Supported Versions:

  • Fedora 41
  • Fedora 42

End-of-Life (EOL) Status:

  • Fedora 40 reached end of life on May 13, 2025, and no longer receives updates Fedora Documentationlists.fedoraproject.org.
  • Fedora 39 and earlier versions are also unsupported

Additional Context

  • Fedora follows a predictable cycle: two releases per year (roughly April and October), with ~13 months of support per release Fedora Documentation+1Wikipedia.
  • Rawhide is the always-rolling development branch, and there’s also a Branched pre-release stabilization stage before each release


What This Means for You

  • If you’re using Fedora 40 or earlier, you’ll need to upgrade soon to continue receiving updates and security patches.
  • Both Fedora 41 and Fedora 42 are currently supported—upgrading to either keeps you within the active lifecycle.
  • Fedora 41 is expected to reach end of life approximately December 2025, following the release of Fedora 43 around October 2025
